Academic and professional reality

Projects, assessment and submitted work

This page separates verified facts, realistic expectations and SIOC planning guidance. It is designed to show not only what the degree is called, but what students are likely to study, produce and demonstrate before graduating.

Projects, assessment and submitted work

IUM publicly emphasises experiential learning, cases, simulations, reports, presentations, applied projects, internships and capstones. The exact mix and weighting differ by module and intake.

  • Corporate or applied business challenges requiring research, recommendations and delivery to stakeholders.
  • Business-plan or entrepreneurship competition work.
  • Team projects across national and disciplinary backgrounds.
  • Capstone through internship, thesis, consultancy/applied research or entrepreneurial project.
Workload and how to succeed

A successful student treats the timetable as the visible part of the degree—not the whole workload. Reading, preparation, quantitative practice, team coordination, project work, career activity and revision sit around the scheduled classes.

  • Turn broad problems into a precise research question, work plan and measurable recommendation.
  • Manage deadlines and multicultural team dynamics without waiting for a lecturer to resolve every conflict.
  • Develop confidence with data, accounting and operational decisions even when your first degree was non-business.
  • Use electives and capstone to create a coherent career narrative rather than an unfocused collection of modules.
  • Build evidence of leadership, analysis, delivery and reflection for interviews.
Admission requirements and selection

Admission is selective and programme-specific. SIOC checks entry level, English, documents, interview readiness, intake and deadline before the application is submitted.

  • Three- or four-year university degree.
  • English proficiency and standard MSc documents.
  • €80 application fee and admissions interview.
  • Double-degree eligibility must be checked separately; it is not automatic.
Tuition, additional fees and budgeting

Published tuition is shown for the named intake. It does not automatically include housing, living costs, visa costs, insurance, travel or every administrative charge. A seven-instalment tuition plan carries a 5% supplement according to IUM’s published fee information.

  • Published tuition: €26,725 Sep 2026 · €16,450 Jan 2027
  • Student Association and IUM for Life fees are added where applicable.
  • Housing and living costs are separate.
  • Scholarship and instalment conditions must be confirmed before acceptance.
Career possibilities and evidence for your CV
  • International project management
  • Business development and market entry
  • Strategy and consulting
  • Operations and supply chain
  • Cross-cultural team leadership
  • Entrepreneurship and family business
  • Sustainability and transformation roles
SIOC: Career examples indicate relevant directions, not guaranteed jobs or salaries. Outcomes depend on performance, language ability, prior experience, internships, networking, work rights and the labour market.
Students, faculty and professional environment

IUM reports more than 1,100 students, over 80 nationalities and teaching entirely in English. Exact nationalities, class composition and faculty assignment vary by programme and cohort.

  • 80+ nationalities across the university community.
  • 100% taught in English.
  • Faculty includes academics and industry practitioners; exact teaching team varies by module.
  • Professional clubs, events and employer interaction should be used with clear preparation and follow-up.
Housing, visa and arrival planning

Non-EU students normally work through French consular procedures, with the route affected by whether they live in Monaco or France. Accepted students gain housing support and should prepare insurance, residence documents and transport before arrival.

  • Housing platform/support follows admission.
  • Plan deposits, guarantor requirements and commuting before paying a lease.
  • Non-EU route depends on residence in Monaco or France.
  • Insurance and personal-liability requirements must be checked before arrival.
Grading and academic-policy transparency

SIOC has listed the assessment types supported by public programme information. Exact percentages, pass marks, attendance thresholds, grade conversions, resit limits and dissertation rules must be checked in the current official academic documents.

Important grading transparency: IUM publishes programme structures and learning formats, but a single universal public grade scale, module weighting table, pass threshold and resit policy was not found in the official public material reviewed for this build. Exact grading rules must therefore be confirmed from the current syllabus, student handbook and offer documents. SIOC does not invent these rules.
