Entry, visa and immigration planning
Mexico entry rules depend on nationality, length of stay and the exact study purpose. Do not assume that a short private language course uses the same immigration route as university study. For stays over 180 days, Mexico has a Temporary Resident Student visa for qualifying study; applicants need an acceptance document and, after arrival, the residence card must normally be processed within 30 calendar days. For shorter language stays, check the Mexican consulate rules that apply to your passport and ask SIOC/IH to confirm the documents for your booking before paying for flights.
Neighbourhood and transport reality
Mexico City gives the widest public-transport network. The school is in Hipódromo Condesa; Metro Chilpancingo serves the area and connects with Metrobús Line 1, while the official Metro fare is MXN 5 and Metrobús is MXN 6 per trip. Oaxaca is much more walkable around the historic centre: the official state tourism authority highlights the city centre, markets and cultural sites, while longer excursions normally require road transport. Playa del Carmen is the most compact coastal option: day-to-day life around the centre and beach can often be handled on foot, with longer Riviera Maya trips planned separately.

DELE, professional study and Bildungsurlaub
IH offers DELE preparation in Mexico. An IH Mexico price document has also identified Mexico City and Riviera Maya as DELE examination centres; because exam-centre status and exam dates can change, SIOC will reconfirm the current session before a student books around an exam. IH also currently advertises Bildungsurlaub-compatible intensive Spanish in Mexico City, Oaxaca and Playa del Carmen, which is particularly relevant for German employees who need an approved educational-leave format.
Solo travel and age fit
All three centres can work for solo adults, but the day-to-day experience is different. Mexico City rewards confident city navigation; Oaxaca is easier to orient around the historic centre; Playa del Carmen is the most leisure-oriented.
