A full-time bachelor normally carries 30 ECTS per semester. Webster’s published business curriculum uses 12 teaching weeks and describes many 6-ECTS courses as approximately 36 hours of attendance plus 114 hours of independent work. That independent time includes reading, research, exercises, group coordination, drafting, revision and preparation for assessment. A realistic week therefore needs protected study blocks outside class.

Expect a mixture of essays, research designs, statistics or quantitative work, case analysis, presentations, group projects, examinations and a supervised thesis. Business students must be able to defend decisions with evidence; communication students should show research, audience thinking and campaign logic; international-relations students need source criticism and structured argument. Academic integrity, accurate citation and meeting deadlines are basic requirements.

Strong students map every assessment at the beginning of term, read before seminars, use office hours early and revise work after feedback. They keep a record of methods, drafts and improvements rather than producing only a final submission. International students also need to build academic English quickly enough to question assumptions, explain evidence and contribute to group work.

Webster Vienna has been accredited by AQ Austria as an Austrian private university since 2001, and Webster University’s Higher Learning Commission accreditation applies across its locations. Webster also states that its business programmes hold ACBSP accreditation. Accreditation does not automatically grant professional practice rights everywhere: psychology, law and regulated occupations require a separate destination-country check.

The university presents small classes, faculty mentorship and research-informed teaching as central features. Faculty profiles are organised by department. SIOC does not publish a numerical school rating without a transparent current methodology; the useful evidence is programme fit, staff expertise, class format, student support, outcomes and whether the student can visit or speak with the department.

A degree becomes more useful when the student leaves with evidence of capability. Business students should retain strong cases, financial or market analysis and the consulting capstone. Communication students should curate research-led campaigns and presentations. International-relations students should keep policy briefs and research work. Psychology and computing students should document methods, data work and projects without exposing confidential information. Internships are encouraged by the university but not presented as mandatory in the published programme tables.

The campus is at Palais Wenkheim, Praterstrasse 23, close to the city centre and public transport. Housing should be chosen by verified commute, contract length, deposit, utilities and registration requirements—not by a promotional photograph. The calculator uses a planning range only; SIOC confirms the actual housing offer before it appears in a booking or proforma.

Students should separate the university deposit, tuition, Austrian Student Union fee, payment-plan charges, housing deposit, rent, insurance, transport and an emergency reserve. Public funding such as Lånekassen, CSN or SU must be checked against the exact programme, campus, mode and recognition status. A provisional SIOC calculation is not a funding approval.

Bachelor applicants need an eligible secondary-school qualification and the university’s required academic profile. Graduate applicants need an accredited bachelor degree. Webster publishes a general 2.5 GPA threshold, but programme-specific review and document equivalence still matter.

The accepted test and component scores must be checked for the chosen level and intake. A general “good English” statement is not enough. Students should also plan for real academic reading, statistics, writing and seminar participation.

For Fall 2026, Webster lists 31 March 2026 for non-EU/EEA applicants and 31 July 2026 for EU/EEA/Austrian applicants. For Spring 2027 it lists 31 July 2026 and 5 December 2026 respectively. Late availability is never assumed.

Students staying more than three months normally apply for an Austrian registration certificate within four months of arrival and need enrolment evidence, sufficient means and comprehensive health insurance. Local address registration is a separate arrival task.

Degree students generally need the Austrian Residence Permit – Student. Foreign documents may require legalisation and certified German translation. Webster advises that the process may take four to six months or longer, so the application order and proof of funds must be planned early.
