SIOC personal-fit guidance
Language study for couples and companions
Plan one shared trip without forcing both travellers into the same course, level or daily routine.
A language course works best when the school, destination, accommodation and daily rhythm fit the person—not just the language.
What usually matters most
Clear room rules, compatible timetables, fair pricing for a non-studying companion and enough independence for both people.
- Current age mix
- Programme and start dates
- Exact accommodation
- Arrival and evening transport
- Accessibility or dietary needs
Choosing the school
- Ask whether double rooms are available and whether both guests must enrol.
- Confirm meal, cleaning, visitor and check-in rules.
- Check whether partners at different levels can start on the same date.
Accommodation and everyday comfort
- Two learners can take different courses while sharing accommodation.
- A non-studying partner may be accepted by some providers, but this is never automatic.
- Consider an apartment or hotel when privacy is more important than school-managed support.
Arrival, support and personal safety
- Put both names on transfer and accommodation records where required.
- Confirm late-arrival fees and whether one person can collect keys for both.
- Keep separate emergency and insurance information for each traveller.
